Hi and Welcome to Madison High School!
My name is Rhonda Cuthbertson and I am the new Principal of Madison High School. Following 10 years of work in private and nonprofit business administration and accounting, I entered the world of education in 1999 to serve as a Marketing and Business Education teacher and DECA Advisor at Madison High School. I served as the Career & Technical Education Director for Madison County Schools for five years and as an Assistant Principal at Madison High School for 2 years. I served as the Principal at Brush Creek Elementary School in Marshall for two years, prior to returning to Madison High School in 2015.
I received a Bachelors in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting from Appalachian State University, a teaching certification from NC State University and a Masters in Instructional Leadership and Policy Analysis from East Tennessee State University. I have two sons, Garrett who now lives in Charleston, SC and Cole who is a Sophomore at Davidson College. My husband, Alan, and I live in Mars Hill with our two dogs, Peppers and Gizzy. I am very excited to be here!
I believe strongly in our students and our teachers! Both are treasured and respected as individuals, and valued as members of our school family. I am excited to serve in this school and in this community
